This summer, the Town of Wilmington is proudly celebrating its 250th anniversary. As a cornerstone of the community, our schools have played a vital role in shaping generations of learners, leaders, and neighbors. From student involvement in summer performances and parades to faculty and families participating in heritage events and local history projects, the anniversary is a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the shared roots and future of our town. We celebrate not only 250 years of Wilmington’s resilience and growth—but also the strong partnership between our schools and the community we serve.

Torch Run Triumph – A Day to Remember!
On June 3rd, the Wilmington Police Department & WSWSU community came together in a powerful and inspiring way for the Special Olympics Torch Run—and what a day it was!
From cheering crowds to proud smiles, this annual event once again showcased the heart of our schools. Students, staff, law enforcement officers, and community members joined in to carry the Flame of Hope, symbolizing inclusion, courage, and the power of unity. The energy was electric, and the spirit of support was undeniable.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, organized, or lined the route to cheer. Your presence made a lasting impact and reminded us that when we come together, we create a community where every individual is celebrated.
Special shout-out to Andrew Oyer along with TVMHS faculty/staff and our incredible student-athletes—you inspire us every day with your determination, strength, and joy. We are so proud of you!
